I think 1M American Covid dead due to politicization of mitigation and vaxxes......mostly Trump supporters in that number.....is a bigger deal.

Anyway, just as with the unvaxxed the overdose deaths are ravaging mostly red states and the red parts of a few blue states

Drug Overdose Death Rates
Drug overdose deaths are up 30% year-over-year.

Top 10 US States with Drug Overdose Deaths
Authored by Editorial Staff
Last Updated: July 19, 2021

The editorial staff of American Addiction Centers is made up of credentialed clinical reviewers with hands-on experience in or expert knowledge of addiction treatment.

In 2015, drug overdose fatalities reached an all-time high, as over 50,000 Americans died from one within the year, CBS News reports. Opioid drugs, both prescription painkillers and heroin, are the driving force for this, as more than six out of 10 overdose deaths involved an opioid drug, CNN publishes.

Opioid abuse, addiction, and overdose have reached epidemic levels in the United States in recent years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that 91 people die every day in the United States from an opioid overdose.

Prescription painkillers, heroin, and the extremely potent synthetic opioid fentanyl are often culprits of opioid overdose fatalities. Mixing opioids with benzodiazepines (e.g., Valium, Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, etc.) greatly increases the risk for suffering an overdose, and it’s common that multiple drugs are involved in overdose deaths.

The CDC reports that the states hardest hit by drug overdose in 2015 are:

West Virginia: 41.5 per 100,000 people
New Hampshire: 34.3 per 100,000 people
Kentucky: 29.9 per 100,000 people
Ohio: 29.9 per 100,000 people
Rhode Island: 28.2 per 100,000 people
Pennsylvania: 26.3 per 100,000 people
Massachusetts: 25.7 per 100,000 people
New Mexico: 25.3 per 100,000 people
Utah: 23.4 per 100,000 people
Tennessee: 22.2 per 100,000 people

Oh the outrage....Pick your poision, Overdose deaths, inequality, greed, education in decline, our health care standings...A country that sinks in almost every category by world standards, everything except wealth and military power that is....The richest nation in the world declines in everything but hording... (which should tell people something)

Both parties have allowed it all, special interests rule and we only get outraged after the fact when we see the fruit of their actions or lack of...

Neither side wants to fix shit, just point fingers and repeat political talking points for their side...Neither puts Country above politics...

We haven't a clue how to do the right thing any more....Ukraine is a case in point...And if we'd start doing the right thing as best as possible, an awful lot of stuff goes away...

Till we quit letting what ever powers that be divide us, our chances of success dwindle....Ukraine in another case in point...

Now sit back and watch the show from this one post that will prove my point....There just aren't enough repubs here to even out the attacks to come......Laughable if it weren't so sad.....What about this, what about that...

Drug overdoses, I understand better than you know.....Its a symptom of a sick country... We have a lot of problems, the dutch boy plugging the holes is out of fingers and only has a couple toes left, but no one wants to fix the dam, only berate the dutch boy..

Anyhoot....Use your outrage, let others use theirs..Thats how we stay distracted and that dam doesn't get any better.......
