The probability is very high that Erhc will choose Total's current valuation (after drilling by Shell) as the "maximized" valuation to settle on in the coming weeks. Offor is getting older after all.
But yes, it could be that ERHC wants to collect more data to further maximize its valuation especially if Shell chooses not to drill or if drill results are less than stellar. Or, if Total wants to do an appraisal well directly in our block first.
But...I think Shell's results most likely will result in what were looking for. Shell's top brass said they expect similar results in the EEZ as they had in Namibia.
If that happens and billions are found or expected... that should be plenty to seal the deal.
No one cares about the price until that happens.
Shorts will realize that as yet another period of time passes where they can't cover, try as they might.
