Rocephin, Levaquin, Vancomycin, are a few more. My dad was on them.

??? I thought cipro is a last resort antibiotic too. True?

it's a hard road back from it if it can be done
happened to me as well......
yes, it was the A-bomb nuke of antibiotics....
at $5 a tablet in the early 90's....

the effects have been permanent for some
in both long term and short term memory, cognitive processing
natural probiotics and prebiotics done quick enough
kept permanent damage from happening for some of us...
made my own kraut, did the Kombuchi (sp?) mushroom etc

It was given as a prophylactic to keep from being infected
in Iraq and Afghanistan....was on it for 3 months once...
and during that time the common belief was that the brain could NOT heal
later research proved it can....which is why alcoholics can
recover cognitive functions.....

downside is....neither the VA or anywhere has released any
of the research that verifies the ill effects of taking cipro
especially for extended periods....AND it doesn't kill everything

imo, it's a definite last resort.....and immediately after
have to do everything possible to get the good bacteria in you
back up to snuff....

and there are better natural cures imo

CIPRO is not only a poor antibiotic, but less effective.

For my prostate biopsy, my urologist proscribes BACTRIM DS or generic equivalent trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole DS.
