Depends on the type of construction, number of shells and type of fuzing employed. Point detonating fuzes that explode on impact (hence outside the envelope of the building) do less damage than delay fuzes that employ the shell’s kinetic energy to penetrate into the structure before detonating the explosive charge.
A wood frame structure would be heavily damaged by even a single shell while a reinforced concrete bunker of the type the Germans built in Normandy during WW II could survive many, many direct hits by basic high explosive shells.
