I wish I were kidding my friend. I almost took a photo to prove it.(can I post a photo here? I have not seen that) It was shell gas station, gulf was slightly less by 11 cents in another part of town but do not worry, wherever you are..... it will be at that level or more soon. I got gas in CT just FYI. Premium was $5.49, no joke. I here it is worse in CA.... well into the $6 range. So my $8 per gallon guesstimate may be low if the EU does not take Russian oil anymore as of this Thursday. Wellcome to WW3 and brutal supply and demand economics in our faces! CEI $10 + by May but that is just my guess. Could be more if things go south really bad.
