American officers were being fragged by their own troops because the feeling amongst some grunts was that the cause really wasn't worth it.
Now that really shows how little you know. Most of those officers that were fragged were shiny 2 bars, that would get grunts killed, either out of stupidity or their ambition to sacrifice the lives of others, in hopes of putting a little salad on their chest.
Competent officers that cared about their troops were revered and troops would follow them into hell.
