Are you denying that the Russian military has been inadequate to the tasks of supplying beans, bullets and fuel?

No I am not. But did allied soldiers have all the supplies they needed? Tell me they did not pilfer whatever food and supplies they could get. Soap. Alcohol, Pasteries,, Petro, need I go on?

Armies in combat are always in short supply. And they pilfer. That was my point. It has always been one of the bennies of taking control of an opponents domain.

Saw a film clip of Russians changing ID on materials Ukrainians abandoned. They took the arms and equipment because it was there to take.
And certainly because it added to their ability to fight.

I just think you are making too much of a practice that is common in war.
It is immaterial that they need those things. Invading armies most always do. And even if they don't, they take advantage anyway.

I disagree. When patrol units, battalions, whatever, are out in the field fighting or looking to fight there's no supply chain bringing them food.

Go back to the Crusades, at least, or even the Vikings, plundering local villages is usual military practice.
