Patton was clearly an anti-Semite who overestimated America's appetite to continue the war in Europe, and probably underestimated the likely resistance of the Russians to Patton's idea of going to Moscow.
No way also that Eisenhower was going to support flipping the switch from bad Germans/good Russians to the opposite.
