Sometimes prices do turn around despite what some consulting guy or girl says. Their job is to sell products to big hedge funds and the way to do that is to say whatever needs to be said at the time to convince their clients to buy. Whether true or not. You really can't expect someone who needs to sell something from admitting it could cost less if such and such happens.

Claiming all these issues stand in the way can be a facade to justify what you're trying to sell. Hey joe and jane citizen, nothing personal, I don't care you can't put enough gas in your car to work a full week, but I have to sell this shit to my clients to make my money.
