I think it came back different after the tax on the billionaires was killed, right.

It's kind of crazy to think about raising taxes of course, but how much money would things like child care put back into the pockets of that young couple trying to make ends meet? Apparently it's not important enough to tax Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk another pittance.

But to keep this in perspective, all the members Congress reached across the aisle to pass a $740 billion defense authorization (88-11), and they all agreed that was necessary. And that's one year, not ten, and it included $25 billion that the Pentagon didn't even ask for. So there's $7.4 trillion ($250 billion that wasn't even requested)... also unpaid for... also not counting interest.

It's not about shortage either. It's not like we can't afford to look out for our own people. It's all in how an enormously wealthy nation decides to apportion its wealth. And those with no political power get short shrift.
