At December 15, the report shows 8,280,624 short.

That was slightly up from the November 30 report of 6,668,178.

Next report will be for December 31. Actual numbers are always reported slightly behind.

imho, it a gauge of "sentiment" although that sentiment could have changed by the time you see the actual numbers.
