I've been following @stonekettle on twitter for years. He's a great writer and photographer. He also crafts handmade pens and other stuff. Jim Wright is his name.
Yeah, this one was one of his best but if you go back into his blog there's a bunch of other gems in there too. LOL You'll just have to pretend you didn't read some of the 'colorful' language that he uses. He says he does that because he used to have a problem with other media outlets stealing his essays and it just makes it a little harder for them to do so.
