Congress can fix many of these problems, but for 20 years they have not. Republican's know that doing nothing is the best strategy for them. It is what they do well, they want the immigration to remain an issue, they also know that people will immigrant to America, no matter what they do.

The world's population is close to 8 Billion, only 3-5 % actually ever want to leave there own nation, so you are only talking about 250 to 400 million people. I know that sounds like a lot, but everything is relative as the world continues to get bigger.

America really needs this immigration, our population levels have actually been dropping, people are just not having that many children. Besides it is the reason America exists, we are the country that represents freedom to the world. You are free if you come to America. I know my few foreign friends would never leave their own country, they see America, and tell me it sucks. I also know my Canadian friends would never come to America, they visit once in a while, but even that is a hassle.
