I'm of a belief where it's not the unions place to interfere with a government trying to fight a global pandemic.

A union should have no input against the government with medical emergencies. We're not talking mandated hours, forced wage cuts or reduced vacation times, or even safety in training issues. This is a medical pandemic emergency and it's about lives, everyones lives and first responders are out in it every day.

The unions aren't there to instruct anyone about their rights in a pandemic. They can talk about 'rights' to better pay and hours all they want. The union is only worried about it's potential losses in dues.

In public safety making sure you are healthy and disease free is paramount to making sure the citizens you come in contact with also stay healthy.
Not just making sure the first responder doesn't get sick from those very citizens.
