Qualified, experienced marine archaeologists are one thing. They are in most every case shipwreck site' excavator/supervisors. They are not shipwreck survey/finder specialists. This CEO should have and could have brought in the likes of Burt Webber or Bobby Pritchett who have this proven expertise. Especially Webber, who's recognized for his analytical assessments of historic research followed by methodical high tec. magnetometer, sub-bottom and side scan surveys. Had either of these two individuals been involved, this would have been over a long time ago with a yes or no. Both of these people have found, identified and salvaged numerous Spanish Colonial period shipwrecks, especially Webber. But no, this CEO hires ex- military divers, NASSA divers, etc. that don't know the difference between a ballast stone and an elephant turd. Put another way, they know nothing about finding shipwrecks, identifying shipwrecks or salvaging them. The track record speaks for itself.
