Since you can say any fucking thing you wish, then I suppose I can have the same latitude here. To write this sentence tells me that you are most likely a anti-vaxxer, centrist republiqan, independent claim or not but your party or lack of affiliation claims not withstanding, are not a team player or particularly concerned beyond your yard apparently.
The 'you' below is mostly aimed at anti-vaxxers and not necessarily yourself. But you are in there.
While you and I see some things in common, your refusal to give up some sort of invented right to be part of a solution for the good of your community and neighbors and just as important your family and friends in keeping yourself protected from covid and so by extension your sphere of people you can infect. What you and the anti-vaxxers don't seem to comprehend is it isn't about you wearing a seat belt, or helmet or don't drive on the wrong side or smoking, all of which only effects yourself.
A deadly virus kills other people you come into contact with. Why is this so hard to accept. You are NOT giving up any rights to follow a pandemic mandate to take a vaccine. There is no god given right to refuse a vaccine. Refusing a vaccine just because it was mandated is a pigheaded selfish thing to do and the numbers blow away any lame excuse not to get a fucking free vaccine. Let's just let the measles kill millions as well, now that it's against your rights to get a vaccine. As long as it's not you getting sick. It's kind of weird to say one got the vaccine but it's really up to the people themselves to decide. Well, this is a pandemic, not a gun carry issue. The constitution also states that the gov can intervene if it's for the common good and safety of the citizens it's governing.
I don't belittle anyone who doesn't wear a helmet, hopefully they pay the extra insurance for the freedumb, When they get their head crushed in in 15 mile an hour crash they would have easily survived if they wore the helmet. Again, you don't have the right to get infected and infect other people because you don't believe in a vaccine that is protecting millions of people.
If you or someone I know, and I know some family members who refuse for whatever reason, mostly because they are republiqans, then I just tell them I don't need their company for another year at least. They are also informed to NEVER drop by unannounced. Why? Because I have a right to protect my body and my family.
It is up to each individual to choose whether to vaccinate or not. But to belittle anyone who choses to vaccinate or not is very poor form.
