Wait lists can sometimes create this sense of exclusivity. Also generate email lists even if those that register don't eventually sign up at launch (marketing purposes), create hype. And why not?

Just my 2 cents and why I'd personally use a wait list myself if I was running a token. Generate that buzz before the big launch to improve adoption numbers.
