Although we're a very large country, many of our citizens have never been far from home. They mostly know what they grew up with.

I have the sense that many today are what were called the "Ugly Americans" in the '50s and early '60s. When they traveled, they didn't respect local culture, and thought they could demand anything and every thing. They were rude and overbearing, and probably most of them didn't even realize they were behaving badly.

Trumpty has never been anything but an Ugly American.
