In your opinion, and your opinion is just that, your opinion. President Biden is afforded many powers, and if decides to exercise them then it's up to the congress to challenge and ask the justice department to rule on them in the meantime he is the president and that's the way our American government works. You are just an ordinary citizen. Also no one gives a shit what you think is right.

You might think you have personal freedoms, but when you step up into society you adhere to the law.

Nope, the issue is decidedly on the side of public health measures/mandates over childish tantrums and bogus claims about loss of freedom.

Surprisingly Strong Supreme Court Precedent Supporting Vaccine Mandates

In 1905, the high court made a fateful ruling with eerie parallels to today: One person’s liberty can’t trump everyone else’s

The year was 1904, and when his politically charged legal challenge to the $5 fine for failing to get vaccinated made its way to the Supreme Court, the justices had a surprise for Rev. Jacobson. One man’s liberty, they declared in a 7-2 ruling handed down the following February, cannot deprive his neighbors of their own liberty — in this case by allowing the spread of disease. Jacobson, they ruled, must abide by the order of the Cambridge board of health or pay the penalty.

“There are manifold restraints to which every person is necessarily subject for the common good,” read the majority opinion. “On any other basis, organized society could not exist with safety to its members. Society based on the rule that each one is a law unto himself would soon be confronted with disorder and anarchy.”

“There is, of course, a sphere within which the individual may assert the supremacy of his own will and rightfully dispute the authority of any human government,” Harlan, writing for the majority, acknowledged. “But it is equally true that, in every well ordered society charged with the duty of conserving the safety of its members the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand.”

Harlan noted that healthy travelers arriving in the United States on steamers that had suffered outbreaks of yellow fever or cholera could be held in quarantine against their wishes; so, too, could unwilling citizens be conscripted into the military in a time of national emergency.

In the meantime the mandate has been issued, and until a court decides differently, it remains the law of the land.

Why do you have so much trouble and need to make something constitutional when it is not. It's public safety. You do not have a constitutional right to spread a communicable disease. You do not have a right to shout fire in a crowed building. If you go to a party with HIV and infect people knowingly and they prove you're the one, you go to jail.

Perhaps Biden should make it illegal to infect people with covid knowingly or if you have covid in your system and didn't know it, should face a fine and home lock-up.

Your personal freedom to infect anyone you come into contact with is not your constitutional right to do so.

And you intentionally misquote the 99% figure. It's 95% of the vaccinated will not get seriously sick or hospitalized. It is not 99% survival if infected with covid without vaccination.

Stop the lies and self justification for your ignorance and selfishness.

No one is trivializing the issue except for you. I didn't see you complaining when your last hero signed hundreds of executive orders that actually debased our rights as citizens and were consecutively shot down by his own appointee judges.

You wonderful people seem to put the blinders on when it comes to your own attempts to undermine our republic for your own best interests.

But, when someone actually cares about us and does the right things that you have been clamoring for, you get all constitutional.

It sucks arguing with people like you because your stance changes as much as your depends do. You'll never be happy. You just like to bitch and moan because that's what you've learned since you were a toddler.

You never come up with your own solutions to problems, you'd just rather complain about it. You can't show one piece of GOP legislation in my lifetime that has benefitted the average citizen like me. 1970 until present, not one.

That's pretty fucking sad if you ask me. And all you do is try to roll it all back to the 30's when men were men and the sheep were nervous.

And don't spew this shit "if they take that right away, they'll take that right away too". That's pure excuse bullshit cop out. This is a global pandemic, it's been 8 months since a free and available everywhere vaccine to prevent almost 100% serious sickness and death from a virus we didn't know that much about.

How many times have you read the indisputable truth that the world had almost 100% eradicated polio. Why? Because there wasn't tRump, sick power hungry republiqans and 'muricans stupid enough to make it a constitutional issue. tRump did that because that's the only he knew how to get so many freedumb stupid people to believe him.

With polio, people just didn't think about themselves, they thought about their families and children and other peoples families and children and KNEW it was right to try to stop polio by any means. And no one ranted in any newspaper it was against their rights. And there wasn't the internet with loser republiqans and influencer self absorbed airheaded retards whining about their rights against vaccines and masks. YOU and your kind have extended this horrible virus at least a year longer than it had to go.

YOU and your kind are killing unvaccinated people daily. YOU and your kind are ruining our economic livelihood by not doing your part to support your fellow neighbors and community.

And I don't believe for a second you've been vaccinated. Because if you've been vaccinated, most of your arguments would no reason to be debated.

hap, In such a public health crises affecting the economy, actually every aspect of public life, personal freedom in relatively minor things such as masks and vaccinations should and must take a back seat. It's a matter of context. There is such a thing as the greater good.

I disagree with you trivializing the worth of the health of the world.

Actually your civil war would have been very different and Canada now might be much bigger.

There are times when a leader must do all he, or she, can to do what is best for the country.

Let the naysayers take it to court. That's when your laws come in. And that's what will happen.

You have done the right thing by being vaccinated. Meanwhile Delta cheers all those who argue freedoms as you do.
