Your concept of a free society does not mean you get to do everything you want to do, under that thought this country would be finished. the founding father's formed a government, to govern the population. Freedom is a word that means everyone, not just your understanding of freedom. That's why there are three branches of government, a bill of rights, a constitution, you just choose to ignore everyone else's freedom.
