It's in the interests of all western countries, and others, that Afghanistan doesn't become either a training arena for anti-western terrorists or a launching pad for attacks on non-Muslim countries. The Taliban have basically always been interested in controlling only Afghanistan, and not interested in making attacks in Europe or elsewhere. If they can't stop others from establishing terrorist activities in their country they will be interfered with again.
