Yes, there is survivorship bias. However, the low death rate from COVID makes the survivorship bias in this compilation quite small, and hence the empirical finding in jbog’s post is very likely to be valid.



If you are going to use previous infection as a metric, it should be parsed into categories such as, asymptomatic, mild illness, serious illness and hospitalization. Then look at what kind of illness occurred in reinfection in these same categories.
