I know I sound overly pessimistic, but I've continued to keep and expand my collection of resources and articles. I read them all prior to putting them in place, and what I'm reading is extremely concerning. Now, possibly (hopefully) the reports are "over-blown" concerning the variants (Delta and Lambda and who knows what's developing to overtake them). In any case, we're not equipped to handle this onslaught. It's that simple.
The vaccines can't keep pace with the expanding panoply of variants with the waves arriving with greater frequency.
Now we're about to be hammered as some folks, deny, claim it's their right, etc. Unfortunately, the autocratic countries have an advantage over us in that regard. It's the equivalent of "get the shot or get shot." I don't know what's going to become of our economy and the intricate systems that up-to-this-point cooperate to make it work. The clowns in charge may have dithered too long, and I assume our competitors (China, Russia, Iran, etc.) have (behind the scene) helped to fund/encourage/undermine to make it more likely.
I'll also be very surprised if those same countries haven't gotten samples of LL from the supplies in the Philippines and are already synthesizing/producing it in quantity for their uses. They'll use it themselves and make it a big bargaining chip with others. Meanwhile, over here - we're being BADLY PLAYED!
Sorry, but this REALLY concerns me. I hope, sincerely hope I've gotten this all wrong.
