#45050 RE: scubastevemd #45048

I wasn't aware South Korea is hell bent on taking over the world.

That's why entering China as a parts supplier to SK Global is the way to go - Andy spent a long amount of time looking for partners in China as they were and have led the world for on road applications (and hydrogen generally) and declined all offers, unlike BLDP and FCEL who have taken the risks associated with Chinese JVs

The SK JV will be finalized this quarter but from what we heard following the announcement and the $1.6Bn investment made it was two fold:

Inside Korea they want to offer the whole range of PLUG Solutions including GenDrive GenFuel And ProGen, datacenter back up was a key part of why they invested when they did. This would include al aspects of H2 generation, distribution and fueling.

Inside China they see the infrastructure need to supply hydrogen along the highways as the sweet spot, so lots of electrolyzers and liquid hydrogen infrastructure, trucks and refueling stations but few fuel cells. SK were lining up a a Chinese energy company to partner with.
