Hope it works out on IEC. The BELFB quarter last week came in WAY better than I was thinking, maybe IEC will put up a strong quarter too.
I don't follow IEC as closely as I used to. Not sure I'd read too much into those CC comments. As if you went back to the prior fiscal Q1 CC, they didn't indicate Q2 would be a poor quarter. That's 2 quarters in a row where IEC underperformed on the bottom line (the prior year fiscal Q1 had a $1M charge). Hopefully Q3 next week will be a much better quarter. Opening that new facility sounds like it has been a drag on the bottom line. And that may be almost behind them.
Still don't like the tough comp. A great quarter for IEC is earnings of .20/share, which is what they earned in Q3 last year. So at best I think you're looking at a flattish quarter. IEC did well during the pandemic last year. I think they saw increased business in some segments (medical etc). Which likely brought higher margins. So I'm wondering if the weakness the past 2 quarters is because that extra business and higher margins are going away.
Stock has moved up from $10 to $11 in recent days. Congrats. Seems fairly valued to me. If it keeps climbing into earnings, I think it'll be less attractive. Good luck!
