That doesn't necessarily mean the Moderna dose contains three times more active ingredients that the Pfizer dose: just that three times more liquid gets shot into your arm.

But as I said before, the great advantage is that it can be kept in a regular refrigerator, of the kind all pharmacies have. That's a big deal. It's also a big deal that it can be ordered in much smaller quantities than the Pfizer shots. The minimum amount of Pfizer that can be ordered is 1000 vials; I think it's 300 for Moderna.

Since both have a fairly short active life, pharmacies--unlike mass vaccination centers--prefer to order no more than they can dispense within a short time.
