When Michael Brown was gunned down in Ferguson, MO, police left his body lying in the street, uncovered, for four hours. It was a message.
When Derek Chauvin choked the life out of George Floyd over a 9+ minute period, all the while glaring at the men, women and children, imploring him not to, he was sending that same message.
The events share a kind of a sick through-line with Daniel Pantaleo's killing of Eric Garner, besides the totally uncalled for violence. In each case it was large black man.. as if the cops were on safari, looking for a large animal to slaughter.
Welcome to America. We have our good points as well... but make no mistake about this one.
