Why would they have to compete with anyone?.......Wasn’t

there actual thought given when they invented the so called infringed tech?

How the heck where they going generate revenues before the “alleged” infringement took place?

A simple answer is because the technology is an improvement to a much more overall complex product. They would need to become telephone manufacturers and compete with the same companies that are infringing.

They can’t sell licenses to the tech?

Not buying the victim claims as a reason not to produce revs.
