It looks to me like just a fine-tuning of deglaciation that can easily be misinterpreted or over-generalized.
My town had never had a 100 degree day in June since records have been kept. This june we had four consecutive days over 100. GMO corn has almost made it successfully to the canadian border now, another year of this, and there will be Round-up resistant corn in manitoba for a profit very soon.
