The REAL bonds matured on 16 June 2010. They were redeemed at that time. They were no longer physical bonds: because of the rather large number of fakes that had appeared in the markets--especially in South America, where Sid bought his--they'd been transformed to electronic book entries in 2009.
The bond story has been over for more than eleven years.
