My guess is when they realize the hedge funds will get screwed. The platforms will get together and halt and/or restrict buying in attempt to save the hedges funds a$$es. That’s what they did with GME and they allowed them to do it, total corruption. Hopefully it will be different this time.
Someone posted earlier saying you can call broker and have them restrict shares from MM borrowing them by signing a form. And someone else said when you originally opened your account most , if not all, brokers state in the fine print that you acknowledge MMs can borrow your shares. Who reads that long 100 page stuff?
