My hunch is that the opinions had already been decided going into the month of June, with just final preparations to follow. After all, SCOTUS had about six months to work on it after hearing the case, and several months before that of preparation. And the clock on the wall would only give them a couple of more weeks, anyway, with recess coming. Plus all early indicators had the opinion coming out in late spring/by end of June. In any event, why wait until the last possible minute for this particular case......unless you wanted to scurry away quickly after, which is a possiblity...but might also make the ruling look weak.
My other thought is that a Monday seems more likely than a Thursday because last minute weekend preparations by the court in quiet can then take place before a Monday ruling. Also it gives all parties involved an entire work week to follow to digest it and gather their forces, as opposed to a Thursday ruling which would have a weekend quickly beckoning.
