Reading the fed document, they shutdown data feeds dut to lack of documentation and concerns over fair and unclear pricing. There was no mention of darkpools. Some read beyond document to them closing down dark pools. I tried to dig up data and couldn't find anything to affirm nor disprove this claim = conjecture.
Some reference "dark fiber" as proof of "dark pools". Dark fiber is just unused fiber, that is, there are no light signals so it's dark. No data can move on dark fiber. When dark fiber is brought into use, it is no longer dark fiber and no different than any other fiber data link. The missing link is a direct relation with these data link and dark pools -- if you can do that city a start so please post link. I note that if these links can be used for dark pools any link can, thus eliminating them doesn't eliminate dark pools. I could go on, but without info pointing to dark pools, it's looking for a needle in haystack that may not even exist.
