I have used a 10" Meade Schmidt Cassegrain telescope for years. I highly recommend it for imaging and viewing. My only issue these days is the unit weighs a TON and I'm getting too old to schlepp it in and out of the house. I hope to build a decent enclosure for it one of these days.

Thanks. Yeah the ST Pro is one I've been directed too.

I have 2 relatively sturdy tripods, another 5 section leg unit that's OK, and a light one for trips more than a mile or three.... They're light, under 4-5 lb with any of my heads, and fine for even my big 500 f/4 II, 2x and body.... as long as there's no wind, stable at any shutter speed. But, were I to try 30 second exposures with a bigger lens (70-200) on a tracker, more beef would make sense.
