Like you, I have the problem of selling too soon. And if I don't, the gain usually turns into a loss. I'm not sure what to do about it except learn to read the charts better. Any suggestions?

I usually sell too early as well. I think a lot of traders do, it's safe when the money is in your pocket.
Jerry's always telling me to put in a stop @ breakeven and let it go, but it's hard, especially with the volatile ones, 'cause I'm a take it when it's offered kind of guy.
Lately, I've been selling 1/2 to lock in and letting the other half ride.
Tell ya what tho, I'm still here, and a profit is still a profit <g>
As for sitting at the puter all day, it's not easy, but it's the only sure fire way to succeed, imo.
