To say I am a racist because of the skin color I possessed when I exited my mother's womb is racist.
That argument is ludicrous. Kids are not born racist. It's the adults that mold them into being racists.
And as I have posted and provided links to the CRT has been around for years.
And I am not suggesting it be taught in grammar school. However I see no problem with it being an AP elective in high school. God forbid we already teach Civics in HS.
And you're confusing the theory by your thinking it about racism.
Critical race theory (CRT) is an academic movement made up of civil-rights scholars and activists in the United States who seek to critically examine the law as it intersects with issues of race, and to challenge mainstream liberal approaches to racial justice.[1] CRT examines social and cultural issues as they relate to race, law, and social and political power.
That is hardly the case. It looks at all races since the USA is made up of a melting pot of various different races and cultures.
I've listened to the talking heads on Fox News that condemn teaching CRT. They propose just the 3Rs and nothing more.
Sorry but I'll pass on that BS. This is just more crap about denying climate change, evolution and the universe is only a couple of thousand years old.
CRT fails in one sense, it doesn't quantify its the past and leaves out the majority of the present...
So
I could easily say the PGA is racist, look at the number of black golfers....They are not, its a matter of privilege
I could easily say Hockey is racist, look at the number of black players,,,, Its not, its a matter of demographics
I could easily say rural America is racist, look at the population,,,They are not racist, its a matter of demographics again.
I could go on to say the majority of blacks are racist, they hate all white people,,,they are not,,but perhaps more so because of the past..
Like everything thing else in the modern age its about extremes no matter the subject....
We are not at the point where we have a merit based system, but that is no longer limited to minorities who struggle due to past systemic policy, stereotyping and yes, racism
That can now go to the discussion about Education last night and how it has effects across the board.....
What people want is equity for all, but we are too busy making everything an extreme instead of working on the overall
