In my view, the offerning news motivated some traders to take the put positions. They did well in the afernoon, provided they sell those positions. Not every put buyer did, of course. Nothing they can do it about now in the cowboy market.
As for out and out short positions taken in the afternoon. They did well, too. They can still preserve some profit, or at least lessen the loss.
The development concerning seeking the regulatory approval seems to outweigh another following offering.
