Control of the border is a Federal responsibility.
Like I said, I don't know why the numbers are up, just that they indeed are and they are really negatively impacting my previously uneventful life in an idyllic place in the middle of nowhere. That's why I made it my home.
I just hope the Biden administration can rectify the situation if it is in their power to do so.
