Intel has gone backwards in share price and cash reserves since he took over in May 2005, no mean feat considering all the technical advances you listed off. AMD on the other hand are about to report record production and probably record market share despite selling only 90nm processors whilst still making a profit. ATI gives AMD another dimension which will only bite Intel and Nvidia time after time in the future, R600 being the first main example. AMD would be bankrupt by now if they had had Barrett or Otellini running them.
