i learned the hard way back in 04 had a stock that made me a millionaire on paper and I drank the koolaid and had all my shares sent to me in paper so that I could hold on to them and by the time I got the paper about 4 months had past and the stock was diving and it went to the point no one would buy and there was no one trading it and I almost quit my job glad I did not. However it took me 5 years to pay to recover my initial and I did that by getting two other jobs. I dabbled in stock off and on for 10 years and changed my thinking to make sure I married no stock then after loosing about 250K I gave up on stock and just resided to retiring
