LG,
I will try and provide some rationale when I post buys and sells. Furthermore, I will not post every trade action online, but if I do post a buy, I will follow it to completion by posting subsequent buys and sells.
I have some issues with people who post all their trades online and also the people who follow the trades.
1) If someone is posting all his trades online, what is his/her goal. Is it:
a) develop a track record and followers to eventually go subscription
b) ego gratification
c) by posting online, he/she is using it to control impulses to otherwise make stupid impulsive trades
d) Instructional, or to exchange ideas
I respect "C" and "D"
Now for the followers of #1:
People who do nothing but parrot the trades of Zeev, Wahz et. al. are probably destined to lose all of their money. They want to make lots of money fast, without having to do any work to develop a disciplined strategy of their own. They are unsatisfied with mutual funds, desiring more action akin to a compulsive gambler. Then when their "mealticket" falters or has a bad stretch, out come the insults and whining. While the "mealtickets" were taking a judicious approach - 10% max in one stock (or whatever), the followers were leveraging the picks much higher. IMO.
