How is this different from Pump and Dump action by investors who develop large followings and announce that they'll announce a new choice at the market open on a specified day. Perhaps the P & D doesn't lie about what the company's doing, but the originator is setting up an open that's up substantially. If the author purchased the day before the announcement, he's almost certain of profiting himself, few followers do nearly as well as the originator of the recommendation.
I suspect that many P&D actions could be prosecuted if that choice were taken by the regulators.
