That's called a non sequitur.

I would approach it on a case by case basis, depending on what I was being treated for and what was known about the drug in question.

For example vaccines against COVID-19 have been shown to be safe and effective in people who don't have a history of anaphylaxis, so as I am sensible and socially responsible, when my turn comes I will get vaccinated.

Some cancer drugs are highly toxic but offer remissions or even cures that make the gamble worthwhile.

Then there's brilacidin - knowing what I do about its profile of Serious Adverse Events, its narrow therapeutic window and the dishonesty of the management of the company behind it, I would consider the risk benefit ratio to be unfavourable. The Phase II study results might convince me otherwise, if they are unambiguously positive.

You obviously feel differently, and you're entitled to so, but but your reductio ad absurdum argument attempting to ridicule my position doesn't hold up.
