So I think this should absolutely be a priority. There's no need to panic. We don't have to hoard cans of spaghetti or go down into the basement. But we need to get going, because time is not on our side.
We can learn lessons from just the covid pandemic....
How fast did food leave the shelves? Ask the people in Texas too with the power outage...
Where is our manufacturing base for ppe and medicine? Where should it be?
We are balanced on a pinhead in our modern society.....Now there is no need to panic but simple common sense dictates people should have a month of supplies on hand.....If we don't pay heed, things could get ugly in a hurry..........The are things we should manufacturer in our own countries too
Bear actually made some good points about the Spanish Flu....We hesitated because of the war and it cost us......
The next pandemic could be much worse but there are also other things that can cause supply chain problems and we are not ready for them..In fact we are complacent in far too many ways...
You made some very good points in preparedness.... But government seldom is prepared and greed keeps us from using our resources wisely.......
In short, each individual should stay prepared and not count on the system, things can get out of balance all to quick in the modern world...
