Both sources are a means to an end. Neither are ideal or the first choice, but they allow the company(ies) to continue on a path toward production and commercialization, respectively.
I never understood the hate for LPC on the other board. Sure, I'd rather have a large partnership or a buy out, but if you don't have a commercially viable and proven product at the time, then it's pretty hard to obtain a better deal. These type of capital lenders are unfortunately a necessary evil to keep the lights on and to progress until the big revenue comes in from adopted product, or in this instance a massive financing package.
