Thank you for this post! I signed up for UL Labs and read all of the requirements of this specific certification.

You are right, he was right on it, applying days after it was announced. The longer we wait, the bigger a deal it's going to be, so I can definitely be patient.

Maybe ours is already completely approved, and they're just waiting for a basket of other things to announce at that same time?

I'm making an assumption that 1) he applied for UL 8801 certification, and 2) he applied very quickly after it was announced, which should mean he is one of the first in the door on UL 8801 approved products.
