Treasury is hellbent on selling those warrants

Whether they will be able too or not is a different story.

If they do sell the warrants it’s best the GSEs buy them.

I disagree - sorry

If we can buy them for say 1-2-3-4-5 dollars a share --- we save massive and worse dilution

And if we want the GOV - TREASURY to kill - wipe out the entire SP or LP - then the argument that the GOV already got enough is not enough political cover !!!

But if the Treasury can sell the warrants and then say

We invested 180 and got 300B and right now we got say 20B or 30B MORE then that is the type of PR the GOV needs and must have (IMO) to justify swapping out the LP in its entirety which is the whole shooting match for equity

(note the warrants exist - not as any guarantee but as GRAVY the GOV could extract for the equity investment AND EXPLICIT GUARANTEE ---- for reasons exactly like - selling them for a small visible profit on top of the money they stole)
