migo,
thanks for your kind words and thoughts (and sorry I hadn't replied until now)
if only there weren't so much outrageous abuse of power (in fact, more than ever) demanding focus -- and still getting far too little
we're already years deep into the first phase of overt fascism -- purely fascist absolute executive power has been asserted ('unitary executive', signing statements, 'Ah'm the Decider' [i.e., 'Dictator'], etc), and that purely fascist absolute power has already been and increasingly is being exercised, and exercised brazenly (more coming to light every day)
with the election results, there was a first real resistance from the governed -- aimed mostly at Iraq and a tsunami of Repub corruption, but a first real resistance none the less
the Dem Congress thus elected will strengthen the institutional resistance to this first-phase overt fascism, and may even attempt to intervene to remove dubya and his veep from office -- and then there are the '08 elections
so by definition we now enter the critical second phase of overt fascism -- that of the consolidation, i.e. ruthless enforcement, of such absolute power, or of instead the failure of such consolidation
'interesting times', indeed
