I think I read somewhere that like 90% of Bitcoin is controlled by less than 1000 people. It sure seems like a scam to me, and I wouldn’t pay anything for it.
Governments around the world are not going to sit by and let a competitor to their currencies take over. Bitcoin is small enough now and adopted by so few people that it doesn’t really matter. But if the dollar continues to decline and people decide to widely start using Bitcoin as a means of payment, I could easily see a scenario where the government says, “owning Bitcoin is now illegal and punishable by time in prison”
And don’t think that can’t happen, as it already did with gold back in the 30s. At least with gold though you can dig a hole and hide it.
