I don't see gig jobs increasing the demand for used cars

Those gig jobs exist because there is excess capacity in the form of cars sitting around 90% of the time doing nothing. So by creating these gig jobs we put that excess capacity to work. We can do more stuff now with fewer cars. That means big picture wise this should reduce the demand for cars assuming there is any meaningful impact at all.
